HaiVision Systems, a vendor of H.264 network video codecs, joined the Crestron Electronics Integrated Partner Program with modules for the integration of its hai1000/MAKO-HD multistream telepresence codec systems into Crestron's automation systems. The hai1000 is designed for telepresence-style communications as implemented within boardroom environments, joining multisite campuses for houses of worship, and delivering medical-grade video within hospitals.
The modules, available from Crestron, allow integrators to establish high-performance communications between HaiVision hai1000 codecs by using Crestron's room automation systems. Crestron automation products provide "instant-on" performance within the demanding environments where users require immediate response from control systems, according to the company.
HaiVision's hai1000/MAKO-HD provides full frame rate, HD video and computer output transmission across networks with an end-to-end latency of 70 milliseconds. The hai1000 is a multi-stream system that combines up to five performance codecs within a single telecom-grade appliance. It's well suited for applications where each location may have multiple video sources and needs to display multiple remote video sources, such as a telepresence suite or an integrated operating room within a medical teaching center.
