The first powered model in the ZX line from Electro-Voice, the new ZXA5 powered two-way loudspeaker features state-of-the-art transducers. The unit provides an integrated high-output, lightweight digital amplifier that produces 1000W LF and 250W HF. The low-noise design includes a 24 dB/octave 100Hz high pass filter for use with a subwoofer. According to the company, the unit's enclosure uses injection-molded, high-impact, polypropylene structural foam for durability. The ZXA5 is equipped with three anchor plates for rigging with single stud fittings, along with two more possible anchor plate attachment points on the bottom. For permanent suspension or attaching brackets, the ZXA5 also has two M8 inserts on the top and bottom, two under the handle, and four on the back of the enclosure, for a total of 10. The PA702 pole-mount amplifier system from Atlas Sound includes a mounting system that allows mounting-pole access through the amplifier via a sealed hole incorporated into the chassis design. To use, install the projector mounting pole, align the amplifier chassis hole with the 1.5-inch mounting tube, clamp the unit at the desired height above the projector mount with the pole clamp system (included), and install the projector as usual. Output for this unit is 70 watts x 2 from the rail tracking Class AB and switch-mode power supply technology.
